Why did I create a website that is full of images of my paintings? Great question! Funny thing about art, whether it's writing, dancing, playing an instrument, or painting, it's all meant to be shared. Sure, it's great to create a painting, to go through the process of producing something that represents the best you can do at that moment, but the next step is to share that piece, to put it out in the world. It's part of the process of getting better. Feedback is a good thing. 

If you went through the website, you saw the best I have been able to do over the past few years. If the painting is there, it's because I feel it's good enough to show. And that "good enough" means a lot to anyone trying to create something. One of the enemies of doing anything, is perfectionism. While I feel these pieces are good enough, there is also something, or several things, about each of these paintings that bothers me. The color. The shape of a nose. The turn of a lip. A line that isn't in the right place. Something. Very few things come out perfect except for this one piece. It's absolutely perfect!

Trying to be perfect is the enemy of getting anything done. Knowing when to stop is an important part of any art. You can only "fix" something so many times before it becomes a mess. Good enough is, well, good enough.
